final bunny - no fur

Mama Bunny

Please read my Terms of Use at the bottom of this tutorial. I hate having to state them, but in this day and age, it is necessary.

I did the work for this tutorial in PSP version 9, but I am sure the technique would work in other versions as well. This is an Alpha Channel Selections tutorial, and I hope it is clear enough for anyone trying it. Remember to save often.

To do this tutorial, you will need a basic knowledge of PSP and my Mama Bunny Supplies.

Unzip the Egg Buggy Supplies into a folder of your choice. I usually make a folder with the name of the tutorial and put the supplies in there for easy access. Open the supplies into your PSP workspace.

Remember to save often! You can save it as a pspimage in the folder of your choice. (This is another reason I have a folder with the name of the tutorial, so that I can also put my pspimages in it to save and "play" with later!)

Click on Shift D to duplicate the mama_bunny_canvas_ssg.pspimage and close the original. The canvas image will look blank except for some colors on the left side, but if you look at your layer palette, you will see several layers labeled. The colors on the canvas are the ones I used, but please feel free to use what ever colors you want to make your Mama Bunny!

Step 1. Highlight the bottom labeled layer - Raster 1. Flood fill with a dark color of your choice to set off each layer to make it more visible, you can always change it later for your finished image.

SAVE

Step 2. Activate the back leg layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selection/Load Selection from Alpha Channel. Load the back leg. Fill it with color # 1. Selections/Modify/Contract 1. On the same layer, fill with color # 2. If trying to add the second color will not work on the same layer, add a new raster layer and add the color. Be sure to right click on the new raster layer in the Layer Palette and Merge/Merge Down. Selections/Modify/Expand 1. Selections/Float.

Step 3. Go to Effects/3D Effects/Cutout and use the following settings: V&H 0; Opacity 100; Blur 25; Shadow color #775339. Deselect.
